Lemon Dill Baked Salmon
Tender oven-baked salmon with fresh dill and lemon slices.
Ingredients
- 2 salmon fillets
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 lemon, sliced
- 2 tbsp chopped dill
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- Salt and black pepper
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (205°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil for easy cleanup.
- Pat the salmon fillets dry with a paper towel — this helps the skin crisp up and the seasoning stick.
- Place the fillets skin-side down on the baking sheet. Rub with olive oil, then season with minced garlic, salt, and pepper.
- Lay the lemon slices over the top of each fillet and scatter the fresh dill generously on top.
- Bake for 12 to 15 minutes. The salmon is done when it flakes easily with a fork and the thickest part reads 145°F (63°C) on an instant-read thermometer.
- Let the salmon rest for 2 minutes before serving. Squeeze any remaining lemon over the top for an extra pop of brightness.
Tips
- Take the salmon out of the fridge 15 minutes before cooking — bringing it closer to room temperature helps it cook more evenly.
- If your fillets are thinner (under 1 inch), check at 10 minutes to avoid overcooking.
- This pairs beautifully with lemon parsley bulgur or roasted vegetables on the side.
- Leftover salmon flakes well into salads or grain bowls the next day.
