Peanut Butter Banana Toast

Whole-grain toast with peanut butter, banana, and hemp seeds.

Ingredients

  • 2 slices whole-grain bread
  • 2 tbsp natural peanut butter
  • 1 banana, sliced
  • 1 tbsp hemp seeds
  • Pinch cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Place the bread slices in a toaster or under the broiler and toast until golden brown and crisp on the outside but still slightly soft inside, about 2 to 3 minutes.
  2. While the toast is still warm, spread 1 tablespoon of peanut butter evenly over each slice — the warmth will help it melt slightly and become easier to spread.
  3. Peel the banana and slice it into even rounds about 1/4-inch thick. Lay the slices in a single layer over the peanut butter, covering the surface.
  4. Sprinkle the hemp seeds evenly over both slices for a nutty crunch and protein boost.
  5. Finish with a light dusting of cinnamon across the top. Serve immediately while the toast is still warm and crispy.

Tips

  • Swap peanut butter for almond butter or sunflower seed butter if you have a nut allergy or just want variety.
  • Add a thin drizzle of honey or a few dark chocolate chips for a sweeter treat that still feels wholesome.
  • For extra staying power, choose a peanut butter with no added sugar — it pairs better with the natural sweetness of the banana.
  • This makes a great pre-workout snack; prepare the toppings the night before so assembly takes under a minute.
